Best Practices for Embedding Tutorials in your Course
If you are planning to use these tutorials for your course, read over these best practices.
1. Please let us know that you plan to assign these tutorials. It helps us keep track of how much the tutorials are being used.
2. If you would like to see that your students watch these, make the tutorials a requirement as opposed to an option.
3. Talk to a librarian about possible assessment measures you could take to make sure students have understood the material in the tutorials. We can offer online quizzes that will help you keep students accountable for the skill sets they should gain in watching the tutorials.
4. Do understand that some students might have already seen these tutorials in other online courses. If you assign it and students report that they have already seen the same tutorials for another class, suggest that they refresh their memory of any areas on which they might be unclear, but do not ask them to rewatch all of them beginning to end.
