Dates
Remember that if you're doing research on current topics, your research should be limited to more recent journal articles. Some of these databases have articles ranging back as far as the early 1900's. If your search results display in order of relevance, you can change to a date sort to see the most recent articles first.
You can also use any database to limit by date:

Databases for Instructional Technology
ERIC
A very extensive database covering all topics in education and instruction. Note you can also limit, before or after your search, to Academic Journals or Peer-reviewed items.
PLEASE NOTE: ERIC contains not only journal articles (EJ), but government reports, books, book chapters, conference papers, etc. (ED). When you find a good title, be sure and note what type of material it is. (Most ED items are available online, via the "Full Text from ERIC" link. If it’s a book or a chapter within a book, we may have it in print-- search our catalog.)
