Quick Tips
Finding the Full Text
The
button will appear on a record if the article is not full text within a
particular database.
To see if we have access to the item, in print or in another database electronically, click on the
button. A window will pop up and direct you to the resource, if available.
If we don't have access to a particular article in any format, don't
hesitate to use Interlibrary Loan.
Linguistics & Language Databases
- Linguistics & Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) Covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics.
- JSTOR Linguistics Journals Archives of complete journal runs; current 3-5 years not usually available.
- MLA The MLA International Bibliography covers world literature, languages, linguistics and folklore. Types of materials indexed include journal articles, books, and dissertations.
- ERIC The ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) database indexes Education research, and is a good source for material on teaching languages and the language arts.
Multisubject Databases
Try these for a multidisciplinary topic or a broader perspective on your topic.
- Academic Search Premier Thousands of scholarly journals in all disciplines, many of them full text.
- Proquest Research Library Indexing for about 4,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers, covering a broad range of subjects with many of the articles available full text.
- LexisNexis® Academic Provides news, business, legal, and medical information from full-text periodicals. Also includes state and federal codes and case law.
