Beginning Readers
There is a printed bibliography in the CMC listing over 100 easy readers in our collection from series such as I Can Read and Rookie Reader.
There is also a special section of the bibliography listing Science Books for early readers.
Building Literacy
- Best Books for Beginning Readers Provides a very detailed scheme for leveling books, along with an annotated bibliography of thousands of books arranged by reading level.
CMC Children's Literature (2nd fl.) PN1009.A1 G86 1998 - Best Books for Building Literacy for Elementary School Children Contains annotated lists of recommended books for grades 1-6, listing difficulty level.
