- Reviews in American History Current issues are available in Project Muse as are all volumes from volume 23, 1995 to present.
- New York Review of Books Available in print from volume 1, 1963 to present.
- ChoiceReviews Reviews significant current books and electronic resources of interest to those in higher education from 1988 to present. Earlier years and current issues are available in print under the title 'Choice".
- Book Review Digest Retrospective (1905 - 1982) Covers books in a full range of subject areas, including History and the Humanities, presenting reviews of fiction and nonfiction, reference works, textbooks, and children’s literature.
- Book Review Index Online Comprehensive guide to book reviews that includes more than 5 million review citations from thousands of of popular, academic, and professional works.
- Books in Print Publishing information for English-language books, audios, and videos in all disciplines including reviews for many of them.
Discovery Catalog -- Searching for a Topic
The Discovery Catalog is best used when searching for a topic by keyword.
- If you are searching for a phrase, put the words in quotes (i.e., "capital punishment").
- Use the navigation panel on the right to refine your search by publication type, author, date, etc.
- Use the word cloud on the left to broaden your search.
Classic Catalog -- Searching for a Particular Title/Author
Call numbers
Call numbers tell you where a book is shelved in the Library. In Drexel Library, we use the Library of Congress (LC) Classification scheme which groups titles by subject matter. This classification system is a great way to group books together, but it is not always intuitive to the searcher. If you can not locate a book on the shelf, please ask a library staff member for help rather than leaving without the material you need. Even if we can't locate the particular title you wanted, we can probably find another just as useful.
