How to locate the full-text article with the citation
The citation contains the basic information about an article: author name, article title, journal name, journal volume and issue number, article publication year (including month if available), and article page numbers. You need this information to: locate the full article in the Library or in one of the full-text databases, request a copy through our interlibrary loan service, or to cite the article in a paper.
Follow these Steps:
1. Search for the journal name (NOT the article name) on the E-Journals Locator page - it may be accessed electronically immediately.
If your search for the journal produces results, connect to the database via the Find it! button next to the journal name, and browse to the right year, volume, and issue to find your article.
2. Search for the journal name (NOT the article name) in our Library Catalog's Journals tab to see if we own the item in print.
3. If both searches are fruitless and we don't seem to provide access to the item, you can then request the article through interlibrary loan (ILL) - the majority of these are delivered electronically as an e-mail attachment.
