Important...

We have one Catalog at SJU---but we have two interfaces for searching it:

  • Classic Catalog
  • Discovery Catalog

When you locate a resource in the catalog:

  • Click the title to go to the full record. Make a note of the call number and the floor where the book is located.

  • Once you locate the book in the Library, browse around that area for other resources on the same subject.

When a book is not available:

  • If we own the book, but it is currently on loan to another patron, request it from E-ZBorrow.

Classic Catalog -- Looking for a Specific Title or Author

Books Classic Catalog Search
  • The Classic Catalog is best used when searching for a specific title or author.
  • You can search across additional fields such as ISBN or Call Number etc.
  • You can also search for specific "subjects" as defined by the Library of Congress
  • You can restrict your search to a particular collection e.g. Campbell Library or Drexel Popular Reading.
  • Use this catalog if you need to capture a permanent link to the record for a resource.

Search the Classic Catalog for books on Economics.  When you find a book of interest, be sure to follow the links listed under "Subject" to locate addditional books on your subject.  Or go ahead and search by "Subject" for these very specific terms as defined by the Library of Congress:

suggested Subject terms:

  • Commerce
  • Econometrics
  • Economics

suggested Subject terms that represent 'sub' categories:

  • econometric models
  • economic aspects
  • economic conditions
  • economic development
  • economic policy

Discovery Catalog -- Searching for a Topic

SJU Discovery CatalogSJU Discovery Catalog Search

The Discovery Catalog is best used when searching for a topic by keyword.

  • If you are searching for a phrase, put the words in quotes (i.e., "capital punishment").
  • Use the navigation panel on the right to refine your search by publication type, author, date, etc.
  • Use the word cloud on the left to broaden your search.
